Carter was the 39th President of the United States, serving from January 20, 1977, to January 20, 1981. He is the oldest living former US president, longest-lived president, and has the longest post-presidency in US history.

#DYK that President Carter founded the Carter Center to promote and expand human rights? Or that in 2002 he received a Nobel Peace Prize “for his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development?”
