*Press Release – Arrival of the U.S. Delegation to Participate in the “Islamabad Talks”*

A high-level U.S. delegation arrived in Islamabad today, led by U.S. Vice President His Excellency Mr. J.D. Vance, and accompanied by Special Envoy Mr. Steve Witkoff and Mr. Jared Kushner, to participate in the “Islamabad Talks.”

Upon their arrival, the U.S. delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar; Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir; and Interior Minister Mr. Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

While welcoming the U.S. Vice President, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister commended the United States’ commitment to achieving lasting regional and global peace and stability. He also expressed his hope that the concerned parties would engage in constructive dialogue, reiterating Pakistan’s willingness to continue facilitating efforts between the parties to reach a permanent and stable resolution to the conflict.

*As the Islamabad Talks commenced today, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with His Excellency JD Vance, Vice President of the United States of America.*

The U.S. Vice President was assisted by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Mr. Jared Kushner.

The Prime Minister was assisted by Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Sen. Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Sen. Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

The Iranian delegation was led by His Excellency the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Mr. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, assisted by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Abbas Araqchi.

Expressing his appreciation for Iran’s participation in the “Islamabad Talks,” the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s sincere resolve to continue playing its role as a facilitator in helping to build momentum toward achieving tangible outcomes that serve the interests of regional and global peace and stability.

Representing the Pakistani side at the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar; Chief of Army Staff and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Syed Asim Munir; and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

 

Commending the commitment of both delegations to engage constructively, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that these talks would serve as a stepping stone toward durable peace in the region.

The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan looks forward to continue its facilitation of both sides in making progress towards sustainable peace in the region.
