This week, FBI Director Christopher Wray visited the Wilmington, Delaware, Resident Agency of the FBI Baltimore Field Office. He met with FBI employees along with several key law enforcement and private sector partners.<\/p>\n
During the partner meetings, Director Wray talked about the Bureau\u2019s work in Delaware and reaffirmed the FBI\u2019s commitment to supporting our local, state, and federal partners on issues such as juvenile crime, fraud, and threats to critical infrastructure. He also applauded the significant strides made towards reducing violent crime in the state.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cWe are protecting the American people from any array of threats, be it terrorism, counterintelligence, or cyber. I\u2019m acutely aware that in today\u2019s threat landscape, we all need each other more than ever and the need for our private and law enforcement partnerships will only get higher,\u201d Director Wray said. \u201cIf you step back and look at how much closer our partnerships are now than they were five or ten years ago, it\u2019s a defining trend. I think of the significance of this positive transformation: we have an entire generation of law enforcement and the private sector working together trying to figure out how to help each other and have each other’s backs. That\u2019s a critical ingredient to protecting Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n
FBI Baltimore serves all of Maryland and Delaware. The office has six resident agencies (RAs) covering 25 counties throughout the two states. This trip marks Director Wray\u2019s third visit to the Baltimore Field Office and his first visit to Delaware as FBI Director.<\/p>\n
Director Wray routinely visits FBI field offices and RAs across the country. These smaller satellite offices cover the same range of investigative responsibilities as their home field office and provide broader regional coverage. The FBI has 55 field offices in major cities across the country and Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n
